The Nike Baltoros Returns Fall 2025
Nike is set to revive one of its most rugged and under-the-radar trail silhouettes with the return of the Nike Baltoro in Fall 2025—marking the first time the shoe has hit shelves in decades. The comeback is set to kick off with a Stüssy collaboration, a move that aligns with Nike’s recent trend of tapping influential streetwear labels to reintroduce forgotten gems from its archives.
Originally released in 1990, the Nike Baltoro was built as a heavy-duty hiking and trail shoe, crafted to handle the elements with ease. Its chunky midsole, aggressive outsole traction, and reinforced upper made it a go-to for outdoor enthusiasts at the time, offering durability and stability at a time when Nike was actively expanding its All Conditions Gear (ACG) and trail-focused lineup. Though it never reached the mainstream heights of models like the Air Mowabb or Air Humara, the Baltoro built a cult following among those who appreciated its rugged design and technical functionality.
The shoe’s revival in 2025 will introduce it to a new generation, and Brendan Dunne of Complex Sneakers has confirmed that Nike and Stüssy will be the first to usher it back into the fold. While details on the Stüssy collab remain scarce, it’s expected that the brand will blend outdoor heritage with contemporary streetwear elements, much like it did with past Nike ACG collaborations.
Beyond the Stüssy release, Nike is expected to roll out OG-inspired inline colorways, bringing back some of the original 1990 looks that made the Baltoro a trail essential in its heyday. With the return of other archival outdoor silhouettes in recent years, including the Aqua Turf and Air Humara, the Baltoro’s return is another signal of Nike doubling down on its trail and performance heritage.
Expect the Nike Baltoro to begin rolling out in Fall 2025, first through the Stüssy collaboration, with additional releases to follow.
