When notable designers like Virgil Abloh and Fujiwara Hiroshi started including production notations on finished product, it was only a matter of time before the brand’s mainline efforts followed. The effect rose to popularity circa 2018/19, and has played itself deep into a maturity stage, but before it’s officially done and dusted, Nike will be issuing a two-pack of color-coded Blazer Mids that channel the two notorious designers.
The Swoosh is serving up two options, one black, one white, both complete with mismatched Swooshes in what may have likely doubled up as an Olympic-themed release. Across the two pairs you’ll find Red, Black, Green, Yellow, and Blue Checks match that of the Olympic rings, each sporting their respective color name and -XXX Nike color code. Both pairs come complete with age-look exposed foam tongues – complete with retro-inspired tags — and off-white cupsoles to complete the design.
