It seems that the magical and mythical themes recently seen on the Nike Blazer Mid Jumbo will also make its way to its original design, with this new Nike Blazer Mid “Voodoo” also veering its way to retailers as we speak.
Prominent through historical cultures of the world, voodoo has merged its way into pop culture, despite often negative connotations. On occasion, though, the practice of voodoo dols in film, TVs, novel, and more, has been for the benefit of love — because sticking pins in a creepy doll sure make someone fall head over heels for you. Well, as commonplace as it’s become in culture — a novelty, even — it’s now made its way to footwear, with Nike delivering a special edition of the Blazer (likely) in time for Valentine’s Day 2022, given the “LOVE” lettering at the heel.
Just like the depiction of the dolls, the pair spruiks a mismatched material makeup, with multi-color suedes, leathers, and canvas patched together with tack stitching. There’s stitched on buttons that give the Swoosh a frankly creepy smiley face appearance — but what’s even more distressing is that the pair comes with an actual (and detachable) Nike-branded doll — and yes, they’re even wearing Nikes:
