Since the early 2019 resurgence of the Nike Blazer and its bevy of basic white leather options, the silhouette has slowly tested out new color concepts and material makeups that has lead to a pretty adventurous second half of 2020. From the upcoming “Shanghai” pack to the just-revealed “Topography”, Nike’s in-house design team has explored some pretty unique avenues. The next effort to surface once again shows the sneaker’s versatility, with this Nike Blazer Mid “Barcode” surfacing as part of an expected collection featuring the thematic.
The pair joins the previously-previewed women’s-exclusive Nike Dunk Low Disrupt, matching both its palette and coded-and-sheathed tongue. The latter sees the traditional Nike tongue tag replaced by a bold black and white barcode, then overlayed by an extended protective sheet that runs the full length of the tongue. The upper is decked out in heavily-tumbled leathers, white serving as the base for warm beige overlays and jet black Swooshes. Canvas paneling appears in the rear, and the pair is then completed by a warm sail rubber sole unit.
