Though it’s not as well versed in transformations as its younger Air Force 1 counterpart, the hoops-come-streetwear staple Nike Blazer Mid has sure seen its fair share of design overhauls. From models made specifically for dance to the oversized Jumbo series, Nike has recently shown that there’s room to explore for the brand’s first basketball sneaker. Now it appears that the Swoosh is looking to runway fashion for its latest iteration of the silhouette, with this overhauled effort bringing in big feels from the fashion world.
Though the overall shape remains stationary on this new design, there are several design swaps that see the heritage trainer turn into a striking statement sneaker. Firstly, the sole unit is heightened, traction modified, and toe caps trimmed with ridging. Secondly, the upper is delivered entirely in tonal, premium tooling, with a slew of new finishes like bulbous Swoosh inserts and rear panels, hidden eye stays, modifications to the toe box and tongue, and more.
