The world-famous Nike Swoosh has humble beginnings. Designed by a friend of a friend, the Check has since become one of the world’s most recognizable motifs. It’s gone through a handful of changes over the years, with many early-on designs from multiple years confusing the masses as to its actual first use. Now the Swoosh is setting the record straight with this second-up Nike Blazer Mid “First Use” release making the exact date on the profile.
June 18th, 1971 is the identified date, embroidered into the lower lateral side of the upper below the outlined Swoosh — also embroidered. These two embellishments join vintage cursive Nike branding in the rear and solid white leather Swooshes on the instep. Outsoles follow suit, with everything else arriving in tonal blue suedes of multiple shags, color-matched nylon tongues, and muted orange leather rear paneling. The latter is completed by a retro Nike cursive logo in yellow, and the pair is then completed by a dual lace set, retro logo-branded insoles, and special lace bling — a golden Swoosh mounted with a solitary diamond.
Though a release date did not accompany the official image set below, you should expect to see pairs of the Nike Blazer Mid “First Use” arrive at select retailers soon.
