With recent variations on the Nike Blazer ranging from “Toasty” takes to audacious Gaming-inspired options and an entirely remodeled “Jumbo” design, it’s good to see the OG Nike hoops shoe settle down into something a little more simple. In saying that, this Nike Blazer Mid “Mushroom” is still pretty quirky, taking the title theme further into fungi than recent releases sporting its namesake.
Serving as a direct nod to the title, its tumbled leather upper is finished in an earthy tan-brown, complete with a natural ombre effect at the toe. It, like most wild mushrooms, sits atop a base of off-white, with suede overlays at the forefoot following suit. More mushy color comes into play across the laces, liners, and tongue tags before blacks are bounded in at the corduroy Checks and heel panels. The latter, along with the insole, completes the design with a special ink trap typeface that shows in-cut fungi to a playful tone.
