For the good part of the last decade, the Nike Blazer has been exploring some diverse themes and redesigns to suit a modern market. Most notably, it was Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE x Nike “The Ten” collection that kicked started the silhouette’s resurgence, as well as a slew of new Blazer designs, including the Jumbo and the dance-specific model from late last year. 2022 will welcome one more to the series, with the brand-new Nike Blazer Mid “Remastered” bringing in multiple materials, new profile paneling and high-rising midsole detail to name a few.
The design is torn between two eras; One nods to the past, with retro-inspired elements like lightly-tumbled leathers and suede overlays, while contemporary traits like mismatched toe caps, high-rise midsole panels, and mesh mid panels add a whole new perspective to the model. Those new mid panels are joined by added suede heel caps and canvas midsole trim, while an old-school story is told through retro-branded exposed foam tongues and a simple white and black colorway that harkens back to the 1970s.
