Nike Give the Dunk High Rebel a “Goldenrod” Revamp

Like the Dunk Low Disrupt, the Nike Dunk High Rebel is another of Nike’s responses to the ever-growing demand for retro 80s hoops shoes. The modern twist on the retro design covers a fair chunk of Peter Moore’s design language, but it has also frequently honored its OG colorways, too. The next to do so is this Nike Dunk High Rebel “Goldenrod” which rips the classic 1985 “Be True to Your School” inclusion.

It follows the re-release of the OG Dunk earlier this year, and a matching “Pollen” Air Jordan 1, too, and like those, the pair rips the exact blocking from the original and bestows it upon the modernized design. Here, there’s an added mini Swoosh at the midfoot in white, but everything arrives as you’d expect the Goldenrod to be; black leather uppers and Varsity Maize overlays work with a slightly darker set of University Gold underlays, with color-matched laces, branding, heel stitching, and outsole rings completing the design.
