Be it SB or Sportswear, 2021 has seen quite the year for colorful concepts on the Nike Dunk. From Gundam-inspired SB Highsto crazy “Firecracker” lows for Chinese New Year, the silhouette has seen some of the most creative designs in recent history. Though it now appears that they may have saved the best til last, with this playful Nike Dunk Low “Ice” set to see out the season of releases.
The Chinese-influenced pair sees many-a-callout to ice skating and the snowy climate, headlined by multiple embroidered characters sledding on ice dragons, skating, and falling. There are other extras, like colorful boundary flags at the heel, snowflake-slated outsoles, and kanji on the insides that read Bīng which translates to ‘ice.’
Color-wise, the pair settles upon cool greys, muted silvers, and icy whites, while inners of teal and read look to mimic heritage outerwear. Outside of the whimsical embellishments, the most interesting part is the pair’s material construction, with uppers of matte silver layered with tonal velour — a nod to last year’s Holiday SB Dunks from Sean Cliver. Midsoles opt for Wolf Grey and contrast white stitching, and the pair is fittingly capped off with an icy translucent outsole.
Though a release date for this Nike Dunk Low “Ice” is not yet known, it is likely to arrive as part of the brand’s Spring 2022 lineup (pairs were originally expected to release during Holiday 2021) Until then, you can enjoy a first look at the pair here below.
