You’d be hard up to find anyone in who hasn’t at least tried to pick up a W on a Nike Dunkin 2020. From SB collaborations of epic proportions to instant-sell outs of college colors that sat on shelves a mere four years ago, the sneaker is attaining a level of hype it once had back in the early part of the Century. The overwhelming demand has enabled the three-decade-old sneaker to thrive — regardless of the colorway, cut, or Nike division. There’s more to be expected, of course, with the return of the High in colorways like “Varsity Maize”, “Michigan” and “Pro Green”, as well an already sought-after “Lemon Wash” Low. But before we get there, Nike has something new in store; a polarizing reimagination of the beloved silhouette in the Nike Dunked that’s sure to divide opinion.
Heading down a similar path that the Air Jordan and Air Force 1 Reimagined collection undertook, the Nike Dunk DNA remains intact, but it challenges Peter Moore’s 1982 design in a myriad of ways; chunky sole units, added extra-wide heel pulls, exposed foams tongues and an overall deconstructed aesthetic are the main points — but being an experimental design, you can expect a lot of that to change from release to release. First up is this “Photon Dust” delivery, which arrives in a clean all-white up top, and an icy blue outsole beneath. A simple start for such an audacious design.
Take in a detailed look at the pair here below, and expect to see these, and a slew of other color options hit stores during late Summer and beyond. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
