Nike Basketball's G.T. Future is revving up to be one of its most exciting projects in recent memory. With months still left in the year, more news begins to surface about the silhouette's future color schemes. Come Summer 2026, the design is expected to release in a "Galaxy" print similar to 2012's iconic Air Foamposite One launch.

As chronicled in "Breaking Down the Wale-Nike G.T. Future Connection," the newer model has a close connection to the beetle-inspired sneaker from 1997. Although the Future forms part of the modern Greater Than series, it looks to the past for inspiration, delivering familiar elements for today's game. Its Foamposite shell and contoured shape evoke images of the Zoom Hyperflight from 2001, but its impending "Grand Purple/Black/Multi-Color" finish is set to commemorate the industry-shifting "Galaxy" Foams from the early 2010s.

Official photos of the "Galaxy" G.T. Future aren't available as of yet, but its predecessor offers an idea of what to expect. The sneaker's glossy upper should don a rich purple base that sets the stage for extraterrestrial scenery. Swooshes on the medial side and long tongue should deviate in glow-in-the-dark finishes while inner lining and outsoles boast pitch-dark finishes. It's also possible that the "Galaxy" theme inspired custom logos and packaging for the promising Nike Basketball shoe.

Enjoy a speculative mock-up of the outer space-inspired design ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com for $200 by June 2026.
