Nike Basketball's G.T. Future is revving up to be one of its most exciting projects in recent memory. With months still left in the year, more news begins to surface about the silhouette's future color schemes. Come Summer 2026, the design is expected to release in a "Galaxy" print reminiscent of 2012's iconic Air Foamposite One launch.
As chronicled in "Breaking Down the Wale-Nike G.T. Future Connection," the newer model has a close connection to the beetle-inspired sneaker from 1997. Although the Future forms part of the modern Greater Than series, it looks to the past for inspiration, delivering familiar elements for today's game. Its Foamposite-like shell and contoured shape evoke images of the Zoom Hyperflight from 2001, but its impending "Grand Purple/Black/Multi-Color" finish is set to nod the industry-shifting "Galaxy" Foams from the early 2010s.
Official photos of the "Galaxy" G.T. Future aren't available as of yet, but early in-hand photos reveal as eye-catching a presentation as its predecessor. The sneaker's molded upper dons a rich purple base that sets the stage for extraterrestrial scenery. Swooshes on the medial side and long tongue deviate in pinkish-purple flair that sees a galaxy print when illuminated. Inner lining boasts a pitch-dark finish while outsoles opt for a gradient finish. It's possible that the "Galaxy" theme inspired custom packaging for the promising Nike Basketball shoe.
Enjoy a closer-look at the outer space-inspired design ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com for $200 by June 2026.
