Nike Kobe 8 "Mambacita" to Release on Gigi Bryant's 18th Birthday

As the sneaker community is manic with Mamba mania, the upcoming release of the Reverse Grinch continues the trajectory of the Kobe brand into the new year. The year ahead looks to be another big one, too, with the Nike Kobe 8 Protro "Mambacita" joining the brand's Spring schedule.

This release is expected to be a part of an ongoing "Halo" collection, which started with the all-white Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Halo” unveiled by Vanessa Bryant and Nike in August.

The "Mambacita" edition, a heartfelt homage to Kobe's daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, showcases a sleek black and white design. Maintaining the original 2012 aesthetic of the Kobe 8, this Protro iteration is set to incorporate contemporary modifications to suit modern-day athletes. The design's most striking feature is the golden Swoosh, complemented by delicate butterfly graphics across the mesh upper, symbolizing Gigi's spirit and continuing legacy in the world of basketball.
