It appears that Nike had some big plans for its #LeBronWatch series for the second half of 2020, with the retro sneaker-inspired range recently appearing in an Air Uptempo 97 edition — and now this Billy Hoyle-dedicated “Command Force” Nike LeBron 17 — both of which would have seen a live-action release alongside the NBA star’s debut on court.
The special-edition pair appears to be a direct nod to the classic Nike Air Command Force that was famously worn by Woody Harrelson’s character Billy Hoyle in the 1992 film, White Men Can’t Jump, with the famed “FORCE” tongue logo making its way to the King’s pair in the OG’s Volt and Blue eyelet colors.

But it’s not just the tongues that pay tribute to the silver screen sneaker icon, with white uppers, perforated tongue (in reference to the OG’s toe box), volt heels, flecked detail and black Swooshes all featuring on the LeBron 17. Outside of the Command Force references, the pair pays further tribute to the film protagonist himself but introducing multi-colored Foamposite pieces along the quarter in reference to Billy’s colorful caps and costume.
Take in a detailed look at the Command Force Nike LeBron 17 “Billy Hoyle” below, and with the NBA still on hiatus, a release date may well be pushed back until the season resumes. With a release date still up in the air, make sure you’re following our official Twitter account for further updates.
