LeBron James knows a thing or two about money. He is, after all, one of the most — if not the most — marketable athletes of our time. Hell, even Nike paid the King half a billion dollars to remain a Swoosh ambassador for life. So it’s fitting that the brand has this cash-themed “Currency” LeBron 17 on the way; a pair that matches jet blacks with low-sheen iridescent finishes. Up top, you’ll find a black woven upper infused with iridescent Foamposite fibers from the midfoot to the heel. Tongues, liners, laces, midsoles, and Air windows all arrive in complimentary black. Iridescent hits on the flipped Swoosh, tongue detail and over the full-length outsole cap off the exterior, while currency-inspired symbols on the insole read LeBron and James on the left and right feet.
After first looks at the pair surfaced earlier this month, Nike has now officially unveiled the Nike LeBron 17 “Currency” below — yet a release date is still to be announced. International retailers have it pegged for December 13th, but we’re waiting on confirmation from the Swoosh for its Stateside release. Stay tuned for more.
