The seventh silhouette in the LeBron seriesplayed a huge role in the line’s future success. It blew up, thanks in part to the sneaker’s appealing aesthetic, but its also credited to the extensive catalog of ultra-rare exclusives and PEs that helped hype up the line. At the same time, sneaker culture was really starting to explode, which made the rarity of exclusives like Jay-Z’s ABE and the SVSM PE all the more desirable. Now, Nike is looking back at a few of these never-released gems on the sneaker’s 10th anniversary, deciding to drop some to the public for the very first time. We’ve previously-previewed the return of the ultra-rare “HWC Alternate” pair, and now there’s also whispers of a Nike LeBron 7 “Fairfax” release in 2020.
One of many High School-inspired exclusives, 2009’s “Fairfax” came decked out in both a back-based “Away” and a white-based “Home’ edition, but word from Sneaker Files has put the black pair in our sights for 2020. We’ve seen the King don these on numerous occasions, across multiple signature models that bear the LA school’s name and colors, but none of them have ever seen a retail release. It’s unclear if the drop will include the school’s PE branding on the medial heel as per the OG, but you can expect the pair to arrive in pretty much the same makeup as the Player Exclusive pictured below.
