LeBron James had his most success during his time in Miami — and we’re not just talking about Championships. His footwear line never was, and probably never will be as popular as it was during his stay in South Beach. His Lebron 8 thru 11 were, and still are absolute gems to hoop in, and was right in that window of Nike Basketball’s absolute tear. Of those, it was his ninth signature sneaker that birthed some absolute bangers, including the South Beach, Big Bang, Hornets, Freegums, and more, but it was the King’s PEs that scored the most attention across the forums, namely, the “Watch the Throne” and “LeBronald Palmer” pairs that remained an exclusive for James. With the former now set to return in 2022 as part of the silhouette’s 10th anniversary, it would only be right to bring the LeBronalds along for the ride, too. And that’s exactly what Nike will be doing, with our sources confirming that Nike LeBron 9 Low “LeBronald Palmer” will see a retail release in the new year.

First spotted on the King back in July 2021, the ultra-limited pair paid homage to the humble Arnold Palmer, a simple non-alcoholic iced tea and lemonade beverage often requested (and some say invented) by the late golf legend. The drink has become a staple of coastal communities across the globe, and a symbol of the easy life — and there’s plenty of that going on in South Florida. Because of that, the pair boasts a tropical palm tree print atop a yellow, teal, and orange Hyperfuse upper. A direct nod to Palmer is found on the insoles, where his drink of choice is depicted, before being completed by and sweeping teal green midsole, and orange 360-Max Air unit, and a semi-translucent yellow outsole.
Though we are yet to sight the 2022 retail release, we’re expecting it to arrive in a similar style to the original PE, as has been the case for all of the King’s retro releases thus far.
You should expect to see pairs of the Nike LeBron 9 Low “LeBronald Palmer” arrive at select retailers in the new year at a date to be announced.
