LeBron James had his most success during his time in Miami — and we’re not just talking about Championships. His footwear line never was, and probably never will be as popular as it was during his stay in South Beach. His Lebron 8 thru 11 were, and still are absolute gems to hoop in, and was right in that window of Nike Basketball’s absolute tear. Of those, it was his ninth signature sneaker that birthed some absolute bangers, including the South Beach, Big Bang, Hornets, Freegums, and more. Set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2021, and as Nike did with the Eight in 2020/21, the sneaker will return for a run of colorways new and old. the first to appear in the former, an all-new Nike LeBron 9 titled “South Coast”
Anchored in black mesh, the pair’s muted blue overlays and soft volt accents are almost Sprite-like in their aesthetic; that is, until a coastal print works its way into the liner to separate the classic King James colorway from this tropical release. The aforementioned volt surfaces only on the pair’s branding hits, while its blue overlays continue to the toe, with outsoles the following suit. Completing the design is a clean white midsole, translucent Air supports, and graphic insoles.
