Originally released back in 2012, the Nike LeBron 9 Low “Liverpool” served as a nod to LeBron’s recent acquisition of a minority stake in English Premier League powerhouse Liverpool FC. It’s just one of LeBron’s many successful investments, which, over the course of the past ten years, has increased from $6.5 Million to over $32 Million. But while the Red-themed colorway hasn’t seen such explosive growth in value, it does remain a fan favorite of both Bron and Liverpool fans alike. With current resale values of the shoe barely over retail, one would question Nike’s decision to bring it back in 2020, but nonetheless it is returning in all of its OG glory.
Like every LeBron reissue we’ve seen to date, you can expect to see it return in a true one-to-one remake, including its ultra-breathable Hyperfuse uppers. Those will again arrive in vivid Action Red, with bold pops of black at the collar, tongue, and Swoosh, with equally-attractive white midsoles beneath. Capping off the Liverpool-themed release are cooling New Green accents on the tongue and heel branding, upper eyelets, Swoosh outline, Zoom Air supports, and outsole.
