His footwear line never was, and probably never will be as popular as it was during his stay in South Beach. His Lebron 8 thru 11 were, and still are absolute gems to hoop in, and we’re right in that window of Nike Basketball’s stronghold on the performance/casual market crossover. Of those, it was his ninth signature sneaker that birthed some absolute bangers, including the South Beach, Big Bang, Hornets, Freegums, and more. Set to celebrate its 10th anniversary this season, the Nike LeBron 9is set to return — and one of its most memorable colorways — if not the most memorable — will be seeing its first-ever retail release, the Nike LeBron 9 “Watch the Throne”

Modeled on the infamous 2011 Jay-Z and Kanye West album, the pair was made exclusively for LeBron James, as well as a handful of notables, including Wale, and “N*ggas in Paris” producer Hit-Boy. For ten years, the pair has remained a PE, with the closest we’ve seen to a release being the Nike LeBron 16 modeled on this exact pair — but in 2021/22, we will finally be blessed with an opportunity to score a pair at retail.
