Nike Football has been making headlines over the last several months thanks to a healthy mix of compelling products and its sponsored clubs winning important tournaments. On the former front, the Swoosh will soon launch a "White" edition of its Air Max 95-inspired Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite boots.
Previously seen in "Neon" and "Solar Red" makeups, the commemorative style recently emerged in its cleanest ensemble yet by way of Instagram user @sanad_zr12. The pair features all of the elements that've made it a go-to choice for the likes of Kylian Mbappé, but the sock-like design boasts a "White/Black" color palette throughout its build. The nature-inspired curved overlays along the profiles abandon the greyscale finish seen on Sergio Lozano's original AM95, instead opting for an iridescent look that builds upon the flashiness often associated with those who play in the Nike Mercurial line. Swoosh logos on the lateral heel and tongue indulge in pitch-dark contrast, while the Air Zoom-assisted stud plate underfoot reverts to a color-shifting ensemble.
While not a one-to-one recreation of one of the iconic Air Max's legendary looks, the impending pair of football boots further celebrates an important milestone, while also championing self-references within the expansive world of Nike, Inc.
Enjoy a detailed look at the next Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite inspired by the Air Max 95 ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com as fall gets underway.
