Running is at the core of Nike, Inc., whether the company acts on it or not. The last year has seen the mileage-obsessed branch of the Swoosh overhaul its performance lineup, leading to the creation of the VaporFly 4 and StreakFly 2 silhouettes. The Pegasus 41 might not feature all the bells-and-whistles of Nike's racing products, but it continues to carry the company's heritage into the modern era.
As one of Nike Running's oldest lines, the Pegasus delivers a reliable experience to those looking for a daily trainer that can handle decent mileage. Cushioned with ReactX foam and enclosed Nike Air, the model's 41st iteration has set the foundation for much of the current Nike Running lineup, which includes the Pegasus Premium. Before the "workhorse with wings" gives way to the Pegasus 42, it's quietly built an expansive catalog of styles. The latest features a 'Multi-Color/Black/Light Smoke Grey/Sail' color scheme that seemingly recreates the flashing lights by which athletes run in major cities.
The colorful print appears all across the breathable upper, bringing a playful spin to the performance-oriented silhouette.
Enjoy official photos of the latest Pegasus 41 below. Pairs are set to begin rolling out via Nike.com in Japan on Monday, March 31, for $150. A stateside launch date hasn't been disclosed by the brand as of yet.
Away from the performance space, the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 'Brick by Brick' collaboration proves that Tinker Hatfield's design from 1989 has a firm stronghold over the lifestyle realm.
