Nike Running has had to fight a little harder for attention in recent years. With ON, New Balance, adidas, ASICS, and others all crowding the serious running space, the Swoosh has answered with its Premium line — a sharper, more stacked approach that brings Nike’s performance language back into focus for everyday milers and style-conscious runners alike. The next pair to join that run is the Nike Pegasus Premium, Vomero 18, and Vomero Plus in “Bred" makeovers.

The Nike Pegasus Premium “Bred” gives the elevated runner one of its most familiar Nike colorways, dressing the upper in black before letting vivid red take over the midsole and the visible Air Zoom setup. It’s a simple pairing on paper, but the execution does plenty. The dark woven base, layered overlays, glossy Swoosh, and reflective-style details give the shoe depth up top, while the red cushioning platform brings all the visual weight underneath.

That contrast is where the pair works best. The Pegasus Premium already has a more aggressive shape than the standard Pegasus line, with its sculpted midsole and full-length visible Zoom unit doing much of the talking. In this black and red setup, the design feels faster, louder, and a little more race-day-adjacent, even if it still sits comfortably in the daily rotation lane.

There are also a few smaller details that keep it from feeling like a basic “Bred” flip. Red text hits appear on the tongue and lateral detailing, while the outsole splits black and red across the traction pattern. The result is a running shoe that feels technical enough for miles, yet visually strong enough to carry into casual wear.

The lineup's Vomero proposals feature similar color-blockings as the Peg Premium, although the Vomero 18 sees ruby-colored accents across the upper. Midsoles, however, opt for eye-catching finishes that make for strong candidates for year-around running.

The "Bred" Pegasus Premium is now available via Nike.com for $220. Matching Vomeros are scheduled to launch through retailers like JD Sports and Shoe Palace on Wednesday, July 1.
