Although Nike Basketball has found its stride with the likes of Sabrina Ionescu and Ja Morant, the hoops-obsessed cohort continues to take trips down memory lane. Throughout 2026, the team is expected to retro numerous styles of Paul George's first signature sneaker, the Nike PG 1.

According to sneaker-enthusiast @prm.cotd on Instagram, bring-back efforts of George's debut model will include 2017's "Flip the Switch" pair. The sneaker—designed by Tony Hardman—features a "Black/Deep Royal Blue/Photo Blue/Blue Fury/Hyper Violet" color scheme. Most of the pair's most vibrant touches appear across the midsole, as well as via the vamp lockdown strap, profile swooshes, and branding on the top-of-the-tongue. The PG 1 formed part of a wider spring collection by Nike Basketball.

Perhaps best known for his podcast nowadays, George was once one of the more exciting forces in the NBA. Several high school and college-level athletes have cited him as their favorite player, specifying his two-way style as a preferred attribute. Currently in his 15th NBA season, it's likely PG's professional basketball career is winding down, making the re-release of his debut signature shoe more sensical.

Enjoy official photos of 2017's "Flip the Switch" release ahead. Pairs of the reissued style should hit Nike.com by Fall 2026.
