Nike Basketball is set to give Paul George's debut signature sneaker, the PG 1, the retro treatment throughout 2021.
Recently, Instagram user @yyt_snkrs previewed two original takes on the model—"Black/Gum" and "Checkmate"—from 2017. Both pairs surface following news that the "Flip the Switch" ensemble will return before 2027 arrives.
Both the "Black/Gum" and "Checkmate" editions of the Nike PG 1 are expected to feature builds faithful to their original launches eight years ago. Beloved by many, the silhouette has a healthy roster of finishes to choose from for its reissue run. The latest duo to be linked with the line's bring-back program offer opposite but equally-versatile looks for casual or performance-use.
Enjoy official photos of 2017's PG 1 releases ahead. Pairs of the reissued styles should hit Nike.com by Fall 2026.
