Like for many of us, 4/20 has been an important occasion for Nike SB. Their extensive catalog of ganja-geared sneakers is evident of that — but none have hit the mark quite like 2010s revered Skunk Dunk. This year might turn the wheel of fortune, though, with not one but two celebratory sneakers on the way for the international observance. The first, which was unfortunately postponed due to a sensitive-natured name, showed some love to the Strawberry Cough strain, and now this ultra-limited “Reverse Skunk Dunk” that arrives completely inverted to that of the aforementioned 420 icon.
For the sneaker’s 10th anniversary, this pair arrives as a true inversion to original, with greens in place of purples and vice versa. Here, the blocking keeps a darker shade of shaggy suede on the under and lighter, magenta-colored overlays and toe boxes. Swooshes, tongue tags, outsole, and midsole stitching all arrive in varying shades of ganja green, with the only unchanged aspect being the tongue’s orange Nike SB branding. Completing the design is a fittingly festive insole graphic and an indication that the release will be limited to a total of 420 as the lateral heel stamps read “1/420” Grab a quick look at these here and expect a release to touch down on SNKRSon April 20th.
