    Rivals, reworked.

Bulls-Magic battles of the 90s were epic. Jordan and Shaq, Penny and Pip. What a time to be alive.

If you were lucky to witness these Eastern Conference battles, you are truly blessed. But they players were trading more than buckets — they were also in the midst of a sneaker battle. Pip’s More Uptempo and the Air Pippen 1, and Shaq’s Reebok series, were strong performers, but it was the other two stars that had a serious battle going on. It’s true that the Air Jordan 11 challenged the normality of basketball shoes, but in that sense, it was nowhere near as influential to innovative tech than Penny Hardaway’s Nike Air Foamposite — a reason why the latter made it to our list of 25 Most Influential Sneakers of All Time!)

To celebrate these duals, both on the court and in the sneaker world, Nike Skateboarding are releasing a pair of special-edition sneakers, which are recreations of Mike and Penny’s most iconic kicks.

Michael’s Bred 11, which gets reworked on the Nike SB Dunk High, including black patent leather overlays on a matching mesh upper, stark white midsoles and the unmistakable red outsole. It’s joined by Penny’s iconic “Royal” Foamposite one, remastered on the Nike SB Air Force 2 Low. The overlays are finished in a Foamposite-like material, shine and all. It’s tongue and heel liner resembelt the Foam’s heavy-duty textiles, as do it’s font and rear pull tabs.

Look for the Nike SB Air Force 2 Low “Foamposite” and Nike SB Dunk High “Bred” — the Nike SB “Rivals” Pack — to release on November 21st at select Nike Skateboarding retailers and Nike.com for $100 and $110 respectively.
