Ollieman.
Since 1985, skaters have been in love with the Air Jordan 1. It’s flat design, flexibility, and high-cut struck an instant chord with skateboarders when the sneaker debuted — and not much has changed since then. If anything, the love for the silhouette has grown. And while the SB Dunk gets most of the fanfare these days — mainly due to price points and availability — skates across the globe still lace up their Air Jordan 1s on occasion.
To celebrate this lifetime love, Jordan Brandis teaming up with Nike SB to bring you a true skate collaboration, not too dissimilar to Lance Mountain’s wear-away collab from 2014. This pair, though, arrives in a Lakers-esque color palate of Deep Purple (the wear-away upper), regal Gold and classic Sail, with the hidden layer looking to be red.
The Jordan 1 is no stranger to skate collaborations, with the aforementioned Lance Mountain makeups and a black/iridescent green Jordan 1 SB — both which released in 2014 (and both featuring on our list; The 10 Best Air Jordan 1s of All-Time) — this new pair is set to rekindle the flame, not that it ever extinguished. It’s likely going to serve as a pep up for the recently “resurgent” (it never really went away) SB line.
