The Nike Shox R4 has been a mainstay of select closets across the globe for decades, but the silhouette has enjoyed the spotlight differently since Kendrick Lamar wore a pair at the Pop Out last June.
The Swoosh hadn't released the pair he wore on stage in several years, suggesting the Los Angeles-native either had the shoes in the stash or went to the secondary market to cop his size. In any case, his co-sign of the retro basketball model has coincided with a slew of reissues and special makeups by the Swoosh. The Oregon-based company has intentionally marketed the piston-assisted model to women, which will soon be able to enjoy a new 'Black' style.
Unlike past pitch-dark iterations of the Shox R4, the newly-surfaced option introduces an ornate fabric around the mudguards. Floral-reminiscent patterns found along the profiles cement the model is a lifestyle staple, and hints at a possible larger collection by Nike Sportswear featuring the same detailing.
A firm Nike.com launch date hasn't been shared by the brand as of yet, but that's likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the women's release ahead. The Shox R4 is priced at $150 USD.
