The Nike Shox R4 may no longer be one of the brand's cutting-edge performance offerings, but it continues to deliver nostalgia and future-thinking technology in stylish packages.
An idea from 1984 and product of the year 2000, Nike Shox received its biggest look in a while in June 2024 when Kendrick Lamar wore a 'White /Comet Red' during his Pop-Out concert. Since then, the series' Shox R4 has emerged in handfuls of color combinations that harken back to its original run, as well as offer refreshing takes on the piston-assisted model.
The latest ensemble to land on the 25-year-old sneaker features a classic 'Black/Red' duo. The bulk of the shell-like upper indulges in ruby-colored flair, while laceguards and other protective panels deviate in pitch-dark contrast. The column-like Shox technology at the heel introduces a 'Metallic Silver' hue into the mix, further injecting an air of Y2K attitude into the pair. Together, each aforementioned component creates a compelling style (even if not exactly the look found on the Shox TL 'Deadpool' release).
