1995’s Nike Air Max Penny 1 is a bonafide classic amongst sneakerheads. The first signature sneaker for the Orlando Magic superstar to bear his name arrived alongside some pretty memorable campaigns, but it was the kid’s electric on-court presence that made the sneaker a star. Though the silhouette has been absent from the market for a while, 2022 will be the shoe’s biggest push forward in years, with OGs and collaborations alike set to fill the year’s release schedule. The next to appear is this Swoosh-swapping Nike Air Max Penny 1 in collaboration with Pittsburgh’s own Social Status.

he pair arrives constructed mostly in warm fossil hues, with textured off-white overlays coming capped with black piping, There’s more black on the tongue and heel pulls, rear Air supports, and vamp branded badge, all of which sets a fairly simple canvas for five interchangeable Swooshes, each said to represent a different sport: baseball, basketball, football, tennis, and golf. The pair is then completed by Social Status branding in the back, and monogram-like locks placed on the aforementioned bulls.

Official images for the Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 have arrived, alongside a second, OG Orlando-inspired pair in black suede. Both pairs come completed with special insoles and boxing, and extra sets of Swooshes and laces.
