Over the past two decades, the synergy between Stussy and Nike has produced some of the most iconic sneaker collaborations, cementing their legacy in the streetwear and sneaker universe. Fresh from their most recent joint endeavor — a three-pack of striking Nike Vandal High colorways — the dynamic duo is again in the spotlight with the upcoming Stussy x Nike Air Flight 89 Low collection.
Poised to mark the 35th anniversary of the Nike Air Flight 89 in 2024, this collaborative effort presents a nostalgic nod to the revered silhouette that shares the same sole unit with the legendary Air Jordan 4. The timing of the release, just before the milestone anniversary, is a clear indication of Nike's strategic move to leverage Stussy's knack for revitalization, sparking a renewed interest in the classic silhouette.
Stussy’s reinterpretation of the Nike Air Flight 89 Low will come in three unique colorways: a sleek "Black White," a minimalist "White Pecan," and an eye-catching "White Habanero Red." From the early glimpses, a noteworthy addition to this collaboration is the snakeskin detailing on the upper; However, it remains to be seen whether this detailing will be a feature across all three colorways.
The collaborative release will also mark the first time the Nike Air Flight 89 will release in low-top form.
Scheduled for release on Nike SNKRS on December 13th, the Stussy x Nike Air Flight 89 Low SP will retail at $160 a pop.
