The VaporMax plus goes abnormally basic

Wild goes mild.

Is Nike’s wild mashup of the revolutionary VaporMax and the off-the-wall Air Max Plus finally reaching maturity? That is — it has begun to sport some subdued colorways that are safe enough for the masses.

Maybe.

The exposed-soled hybrid has really only hit the market in crazy colorways thus far, but this one goes basic, with a simple black and white colorway.

Granted, this colorway will go with any outfit, as it’s draped in a blacked-out upper, with a white midsole and gradient VaporMax sole unit. We do get a small pop of color from the signature Vm logo on the heel.

If you’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on a pair of these wavy babies, but don’t feel the vibrant predecessors, this one is for you. A release date is yet to be cemented, but we’re expecting it to hit retailers shelves and on Nike.com over the coming days.
