Wemby's Statue of Liberty-Inspired Nike G.T. Cut 4 Is a Gift to Us All

Nike Basketball might've closed out July by announcing that Victor Wembanyama will get his own signature model, but before giving the world a glimpse at the Wemby 1, the Swoosh is releasing more G.T. Cut 4 pairs from the Frenchman's Player-Exclusive (P.E.) roster. Up next?: A Statue of Liberty-inspired pair.

The special makeover is officially clad in a "Mint Foam/Mint Foam/Metallic Gold" color scheme that doesn't hide its Ellis Island-appropriate inspo at all. The sneaker also emerged shortly after Wemby and his San Antonio Spurs squad lost to the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals. Regardless, the G.T. Cut 4 takes on a cheeky tone that celebrates both France in the Statue of Liberty situation (the European country famously gifted the monument to the U.S. in 1884) and Wemby as a gift to the basketball world via two words stamped on the spine: "You're Welcome."

As with other exclusive styles for Wemby, the 7-foot-4-inch player sees personal touches baked into the design—in this case, the French translation for "You're Welcome": "Vous êtes les bienvenus." The detail is done in a copper-like tone that recalls the Statue of Liberty's original look.
