ROSÉ Honors "rosie" Album with PUMA Speedcat Capsule

After some time apart, BLACKPINK is back on tour, much to the enjoyment of countless fans across the world. During their solo periods, select members of the group made a name for themselves with some of the most culturally-relevant footwear brands of the moment. ROSÉ, for example, has starred in campaigns for the PUMA Speedcat, and it seems that she also worked on a capsule dedicated to her debut studio album, rosie.

Official photos acquired by Elden Monitors showcase two ballet-inspired editions of the trendy, thin-soled silhouette. At quick glance, the leather and suede-covered styles seem like any two offerings in the expansive Speedcat catalog, but closer inspection reveals ROSIE text on the tongue and insole. While it's a little confusing as to why co-branding wouldn't include ROSÉ wordmarks like PUMA campaigns featuring the K-Pop superstar have, even closer inspection of the pairs' size label could reveal the reasoning.

ROSÉ released her first solo project in December 2024, a project that's gone on to surpass the 5 million equivalent album units worldwide. Labels on the footwear's read 1124, denoting that production for both pairs ended in November 2024, a month before the release of rosie. It's likely, then, that both the newly-surfaced PUMA Speedcat and Speedcat Ballet Suede were developed to launch alongside the album. It's also possible that the Big Cat Brand produced both pairs as promotional items solely for the artist, but less likely given the economic benefit any product branded with ROSÉ likeness brings.

According to ROSÉ's Instagram account, her most recent campaign for PUMA was in mid-April. In it, she's wearing the Speedcat Ballet Suede, a newer silhouette rooted in the unshakeable balletcore trend. The brand, however, has shifted a sizable amount of attention to the H-Street since then. The BLACKPINK member has co-signed the silhouette, wearing it at a launch event in Seoul, but a proper ROSÉ x PUMA Speedcat collection would still surely sell out.
