Adidas Readies the Anthony Edwards 2 for Chinese New Year 2026

The Adidas Anthony Edwards 2 (AE 2) basketball shoe has a lot to prove. As the sequel to one of the best-received debut signature models in recent memory, the silhouette has launched amongst high expectations. Its first "With Love" drop kicked off to rave reviews, but the bulk of its release cycle has yet to be seen.

Recently, China's biggest Derrick Rose fan—@lovedrose16 on Instagram—has taken to the social media platform to unveil what's set to be the AE 2's Chinese New Year 2026 release. The celebration's next zodiacal figure is the Horse, which comes into the spotlight starting on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026. A nod to the mythological creature appears on one of the sneaker's spines, donning a golden finish that denotes the special nature of the occasion. The remainder of Anthony Edwards' second design sees a silver, off white, and light blue color scheme divvy up real estate across the upper, with branding on the top-of-the-tongue interrupt in bold red flair.

As evidenced by the Believe That. Tour, Edwards has a strong fanbase in China. His star power within the NBA will only continue to grow, which is sure to reflect out East as well. The Horse emblem on the limited edition AE 2 further showcases the Minnesota Timberwolves star and Adidas Basketball's commitment to the world's largest continent.
