The Three Stripes and folks south of the U.S. border have a long history together. Even prior to sponsoring the country's National Men's Football Team, Adidas has been tapped in to Mexico's people, culture, and customs. Recent history has seen the German juggernaut sign regional icons like Natanael Cano to endorsement deals, and launch playful products like the 'Concha' Superstars. Each effort has showcased an authentic interest in and connection to the land once conquered by the Aztecs.
Today, Adidas Originals launched its latest homage to Mexico in the form of its 'Agave Pack.' Comprised of two old school basketball silhouettes, the capsule draws inspiration from the succulent plant used to produce tequila and mezcal, two important and popular spirits. The Forum Low and Rivalry Luxe Low opt for predominantly-clean finishes that allow for their agave-inspired 'Linen Green' accents to revel in the spotlight.
The Originals offerings feature high-quality materials across their uppers and sole units, although their performance origins remain intact. The low-top Adidas Forum boasts more 'Linen Green' flair than its Rivalry counterpart, but both styles enjoy playful agave-like updates to their trefoil logos and custom insoles.
Campaign imagery for the collection includes agaves in the backdrop and a number of other items linked to the cultivation and distillation of the agave plant.
Enjoy official photos of the 'Agave Pack' below. Both styles are currently available via Adidas.mx for less than $120 each. It's unlikely that either pair releases in the U.S.
