BSTN’s European Basketball Heritage Series is a celebration of the unique local cultures and a humble tribute to those, who were essential in creating them. Europe’s go-to retailer for premium sportswear created two limited-edition versions of the adidas Forum that are dedicated to two of the absolute powerhouses in European basketball history: Panathinaikos B.C., arguably the most decorated team in Europe and a record six-time EuroLeague champion, and Jugoplastika Split, the only team to ever win Europe’s premier competition three years in a row.
Both unique versions of the Forum pay homage to the team’s numerous titles as well as European basketball heritage as a whole with various details and hidden messages that go beyond the shoes’ mere color schemes:
Embroidered with six stars, representing the team’s six EuroLeague titles, the adidas x BSTN Forum ‘84 Low is dedicated to PAO’s time as the kings of Europe and the heights the club and its fans aspire to reach again. The lowtop combines premium suede with the iconic green of Panathinaikos and also adds subtle hints at the team’s rich history by including marble elements on the outsole.
Clad in the team’s characteristic colors of black and yellow, the adidas x BSTN Forum High ties back to an era of dominance for Jugoplastika Split with a special loop label at the heel and team branding on the ankle. The high-top truly is as ‘Euro’ as it gets, evoking memories of the legendary Gripe gym being filled to the brim and showcasing a game that was truly ahead of its time.
The collaborative capsule collection releases alongside two limited-edition coffee-table books, one dedicated to each of the two iconic European franchises and celebrating their basketball heritage. Each volume features conversations with people who embody their team, its history, and the culture that makes it unique alongside the campaign imagery.
The adidas x BSTN Forum ‘84 releases on May 7th (Forum Low Panathinaikos Athens) and May 21st (Forum High Jugoplastika Split), exclusively at BSTN, the adidas confirmed app, and adidas stores in Athens and Split.
