Concept Lab // Air Jordan 4 “Kansas City Chiefs”
On Sunday, February 7th, history will be made. Tom Brady will enter his 10th career Super Bowl chasing his seventh ring — one that would break his own record of six. It’s the first time the living legend has been to the big dance through the NFC channel after being axed from New England. He found a home in Tampa and despite the critics, found a way to the final game of the season. He’ll be facing Kansas City Chief superstar, 2018 NFL MVP, and 2020 Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. The narrative is set —The Legend vs. the Legend in the making — and we can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Kansas City will go in slight favorites, and, despite how much we love watching Tom Brady, we’ve gotta put our money on the Chiefs. To show our support for the franchise going into next weekend’s big game, we’ve whipped up a special-edition colorway for the team — PE style. Considering the franchise’s third color, a white leather base is a given. from there we went heavy on the color accents, with a bright crimson red riding the midsole’s forefoot, wings, liners, and rear tabs. Golden yellow hits are used with precision, gracing only the eyelets, rear branding, and midsole detail — the latter flecked with spots of black to break up what would otherwise be an eyesore.
Though just an imagined PE, it would be nice to see something like this hit shelves should the Cheifs be victorious come Super Bowl Sunday. But if the Bucs do manage to secure the Vince Lombardi Trophy, Tampa fans will already have access to the franchise-inspired Air Jordan 12 Low.
