Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his Oklahoma City Thunder squad are looking for back-to-back NBA championships. With the 2026 Playoffs having just begun, Converse Basketball has prepped special-editions of the SHAI 001 to commemorate the occasion.
As with most previous ensembles, the newly-surfaced "Ink" release opts for a tonal execution across the minimalist, but high-performing sneaker. What differs between the dark navy-clad pair and its predecessors, however, is a premium leather upper. The material offers a different on-foot feel than nubuck finishes of most other Converse SHAI 001s. The choice in material reflects both SGA and his partner's celebration of the Playoffs, and an attempt to make the basketball shoe more appropriate for off-court wear.
Check out photos of the "Ink" SHAI 001 ahead as you wait for a wide-retailer launch on Thursday, May 14. Pairs are priced at a slightly higher $150.
