On-Foot Looks at the Air Jordan 1 “First Class Flight” 🛫
Mike Takes Flight 🛩
While design inspiration typically comes from external sources like nature or architecture, the Beaverton Brand has been known to look to obscure sources for motivation. Their unordinary exploits has lead them to such designs like the recently released Air Max 97s that came inspired by their factory’s shipping boxes. And, just like those, this latest-to-surface Air Jordan 1 takes on a similar industrial shipping theme — but it’s a little bit more glamorous than traveling via the USPS
A white base of smooth and perforated leather makes up the majority of the sneaker, with vibrant flashes of yellow arriving at the tongue tab, collar, outsole and underneath (what appears to be) the removable Velcro Swooshes. Barcodes, motifs, and baggage stickers adorn the medial and heel sides, with the profile left bare of branding save the debossed Wings collar logo. The detailing on the barcodes are adorned with MJ’s career stat averages —along with a handful of other details yet to be discovered, I’m sure.
Grab a first look at the forthcoming colorway below and keep it locked into HOUSE OF HEAT for more looks and more details as they arise.
