    Since 1985, skaters have been in love with the Air Jordan 1. It’s flat design, flexibility, and high-cut struck an instant chord with skateboarders when the sneaker debuted — and not much has changed since then. If anything, the love for the silhouette has grown. And while the SB Dunk gets most of the fanfare these days — mainly due to price points and availability — skates across the globe still lace up their Air Jordan 1s on occasion.

    To celebrate this lifetime love, Jordan Brand is teaming up with Nike SB to bring you a true skate collaboration, not too dissimilar to Lance Mountain’s wear-away collab from 2014. The duo both arrive with wear-away uppers, said to be inspired by New York and Paris, two important cities in the timeline of both Jordan Brand and skateboarding.

    The Jordan 1 is no stranger to skate collaborations, with the aforementioned Lance Mountain makeups and a black/iridescent green Jordan 1 SB — both which released in 2014 (and both featuring on our list; The 10 Best Air Jordan 1s of All-Time) — this new pair is set to rekindle the flame, not that it ever extinguished. It’s likely going to serve as a pep up for the recently “resurgent” (it never really went away) SB line, featuring Nike SB tongue labels and Zoom Air insoles consistent with modern day SB footwear,
