With murmurs of a V2 New Balance 580 on the way, it has become apparent that the Boston-based brand will look to drum up some hype on the series with a release of its original 2007 model in conjunction with some collaborative partners. First, we saw Stray Rats do their thing on the retrospective silhouette; now it’s time for one of the biggest names in skate to do theirs.

First looks at two colorways of the Palace x New Balance 580 courtesy of @woganwodeyang show significant retro flair, with teals and flecked soles featuring prominently across both pairs. Though similar in that sense, the two pairs are vastly different; one dressed mostly in monochrome grey mesh and suede with one-color accents, and the other spruiking off-white mesh with purple, yellow, and teal-greens floating throughout the pair’s overlays and accents.
