New Air Max 97 Surfaces in Black, White and Red

After just having dropped Spring-friendly colorways of White Gum and one contrast-stitched with Pine Green, the Air Max 97is doing a full 180 and reverting to a bold black build for its next release. This one, though, is not your common triple black banger — in fact, it comes with some pretty cool reflective detailing that sets it apart from others we’ve seen before.

A classic construction of mesh and leather is swapped out for black ripstop and hardened, textured overlays, the latter of which wraps a dual white and black overlay combo. Both above and below this edial white break you’ll find complimenting white laces and outsole pops, though the latter is mostly clad in black. Also in black is the uppermost overlays finished in 3M reflective, lateral branding and mid panels, Air supports and midsoles that create an ominous overarching aesthetic. Finally, rich pops of red are worked into the tongue and heel pull branding, as well as the added forefoot mini Swoosh and toe line tread.
