Currently celebrating a half-century of use, the Nike Swoosh logo has become one of the world’s most recognizable symbols. It comes from humble beginnings — it was designed by a friend of a friend — and has undergone a handful of changes over the years. And in this, the 50th anniversary year, Nike is celebrating the variations through a special “First Use” collection of classics. Now it’s time for the Air Max Plus to join the party, and it does so in University Blue duds.
Just like the previously-previewed options, this Air Max Plus shares some communal traits; an identification of June 18th, 1971 as the trademarked date on the medial side, retro tongue tags, a golden Swoosh mounted with a solitary diamond, and collection-specific insoles. Outside of that, the pair is completely different from anything else. Uni Blue mesh uppers arrive clad with fully translucent vein cage overlays, tonal suede mudguards, and accents of bright white and navy blue to complete the design.
Though a release date did not accompany the official image set below, you should expect to see pairs of the Nike Air Max Plus “First Use” arrive at select retailers soon. While we await further details, grab a quick look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep our eyes glued to our official Twitter accountfor updates.
