Never has the Nike Eagle returned to the market since its debut in 1980, but now, over 40 years on it will, thanks to a left-field collaboration from BLACK COMME des GARÇONS.
Designed for a road racing shoe and was the most lightweight sneakers produced at the time (5.1 oz), the Nike Eagle quickly became a fan favorite amongst runners. With technology surpassing it fairly quickly, it fell away as quickly as it came, but thanks to CDG, we’ll finally get to see its return — in Japan, at the very least.
Featuring an all-black look, the pair is constructed in a classic mix of nylon, and suede, with leather Swoosh overlays, atop a murdered-out sole unit. CDG branding in the back is black on black, whilst tongue tags and co-branded insoles boast a bright white finish.
