BLACK COMME des GARÇONS Brings Back 1980’s Nike Eagle

Never has the Nike Eagle returned to the market since its debut in 1980, but now, over 40 years on it will, thanks to a left-field collaboration from BLACK COMME des GARÇONS.

Designed for a road racing shoe and was the most lightweight sneakers produced at the time (5.1 oz), the Nike Eagle quickly became a fan favorite amongst runners. With technology surpassing it fairly quickly, it fell away as quickly as it came, but thanks to CDG, we’ll finally get to see its return — in Japan, at the very least.

Featuring an all-black look, the pair is constructed in a classic mix of nylon, and suede, with leather Swoosh overlays, atop a murdered-out sole unit. CDG branding in the back is black on black, whilst tongue tags and co-branded insoles boast a bright white finish.

Grab a detailed look at the BLACK COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Eagle here below and look to find these hitting CDG stores in Japan and DSM on March 18th. A global release is yet to be confirmed.
