As is the case for every collaborative sneaker release, the sampling process is extensive. Brands want to make sure that they nail down every detail, trial out the most suitable colorways and test different materials. For Tiffany’s Air Force 1 Low, the process was undoubtedly extensive, given their own obsessions with quality control. From that process, an alternate — now confirmed to be a Family and Friends-exclusive — has appeared, this one sporting a significant chunk of the brand’s signature blue hue.

Unlike the retail version, the upper comes covered in tumbled leather, with the eyelets, Swooshes, and heel overlays taking on a nubuck construction. The former is dressed in the iconic “Tiffany Blue,” while nubucks, nylon tongues, laces and dubraes are offered in black. Tongue and heel insignia run parallel to the retail release, with a simple white and blue sole unit rounding out the design.
