Nike's revival of the Air Superfly was well-received by eager enthusiasts of the silhouette's original run in 2000, but hasn't caught on quite like the brand might've liked. To this end, the Swoosh recently tapped Rei Kawakubo's Dover Street Market for a three-pair collaboration.
As with inline editions of the ultra-lightweight, retro performance product, DSM's trio favors tonal finishes across the perforated upper. "Hyper Black," "Summit White," and "Smoke Grey" claim real estate across the three offerings, keeping things versatile and Y2K-friendly along the way. The Cushlon sole unit with which the Air Superfly debuted 25 years ago maintains a pitch-dark makeup on all three pairs, allowing for the top-half to revel in the spotlight. Co-branding appears on the top-of-the-tongue and insole, cementing the storied partnership between both parties.
