TOMO KOIZUMI's Multi-Colored Nike Air Superfly Releases Sept. 20

Eponymous Japanese imprint TOMO KOIZUMI is the latest collaborator to rework the retro Nike Air Superfly.

Known for its use of ruffles, flowers, and vibrant colors, TOMO KOIZUMI has made a name for itself by way of ornate wedding dresses and other outfits for celebrity-types. Its Nike Sportswear collaboration follows performance-oriented guidelines established at the turn-of-the-century, but sees the lightweight racer indulge in a "Black/Photo Blue/Fierce Purple/Black" color scheme fit for an association with Tomo Koizumi's work. An iridescent finish lands on the sneaker's upper, which features velcro-assisted swooshes on the lateral profile. Three sets of interchangeable swooshes arrive with the pair, allowing for wearers to customize their shoes.

Elsewhere, rubber traction underneath the forefoot and hind-foot opt for multi-colored presentations that see shades of green, purple, and orange animate tread. A similar color scheme appears on the Superfly's packing paper. TOMO KOIZUMI-branding lands on the left footbed, cementing the designer brand's burgeoning partnership with the Swoosh.
