The Air Force 1 “Lakers” Joins Nike’s “Wold Champ” Collection

Back in 2010, Jordan Brand honored Mike’s first NBA Championship with a Lakers-themed Air Jordan 6; the sneaker he wore and the team he defeated back in 1991. The leather and nubuck release with its contrast stitching is a cult-loved release, and barring any retro release, it will likely stay in the past. Perhaps the next generation of sneakerheads will see a re-release, but until then, the little footers can acquire this upcoming Air Force 1 Low “Lakers” that bears some strong similarities to the decade-old release.

Similar to the retro Air Jordan, this Air Force 1 features a white and black sole unit, dual textile upper of leather and nubuck, contrast stitching, and accents of the old purple and gold. Here, though, the latter rests entirely across the top line, with liners and Nike branding delivered in their respective hues. Contrary to the Jordan 6, the pair features leather uppers and nubuck overlays — an inverse finish — whilst contrast stitching sticks to one color; white. Lastly, the addition of patent leather Swooshes and heel overlays appears to tie these into an upcoming “Lakers Pack” that already includes the Nike Air More Uptempo.

After first revealing itself in kids sizing, official images of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Lakers” have just revealed themselves in adults sizing — including the addition of the “World Champ” wrestling belt-inspired dubraes, confirming its link-in to the extensive Swoosh collection.. A release date has not yet been set.
